Show Yorkson Creek some love and volunteer to help out this fall. Here are a few ways you can support salmon and help protect nature:

  • Salmon Saturday Stream Clean Up
    Saturday October 10, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
    Yorkson Creek, Willoughby
    Gather your friends and family to stroll the trails and remove accumulated trash from the stream banks of this salmon bearing stream prior to spawning season. All ages welcome. All supplies provided. Registration required for planning purposes, email projects@leps.bc.ca. Exact location provided upon registration.
  • Yorkson Watershed Enhancement Society meeting on Tuesday October 13, 7:30-9:00 pm. Location: TBD. RSVP yorksonwes.org if you’re interested in joining our meeting to discuss stream stewardship and community engagement.
  • Vote! Attend an all-candidates meeting, read about the issues affecting the environment in Langley, and get out to vote on Oct. 17 for candidates that support a greener future.
  • View spawning salmon – After a rainstorm in November, McClughan Park and Discovery Park in Walnut Grove are great places to check for spawning coho and chum. Salmon Spotting Map.  Email yorksonwes@gmail.com to report your sightings.
